I have torsion axles on my teardrop I would like to get some lift on the trailer.
I think a body lift is not a good idea because the body is only mounted at 4 points on 2x2 tabs off the frame.
Any lift ideas are welcome
Thanks, Kirk

Hi KIRK, Get a lower truck it will make your trailer look taller. Laughing With a body lift the trailer frame will still be at the same height. You should have some brackets made to move the axles lower. That would bring everything up. Nice looking setup you have Thumbs Up .

The simplest thing would be to take the trailer to a welder, have him cut the welds holding the existing axle to the frame (unless it's bolted), add some short lengths of 2"x2", 3"x2" or even 4"x2" square/rectangular tube as spacers and then bolt or weld the axle back in place under the spacers.

Obviously you'll need a plan for how to move or replace the fenders as they will look bad if left where they are.

I am working on an air shock addition to the Dexter axle and waiting for our new MM to work on adapting to the axle with brakes. There are pictures in the album showing the adapters.
One of the reasons was that I wanted the low profile for towing down the road but to be able to give a boost in height when I want it off road. And one of the other reasons is that since they can be adjusted independently they can level the trailer. If this works out we will offer it as a kit.

Bigger tires would be an option, depending on how much you want to go up. You've got 5 bolt wheels, and it's likely a 5x4.5 bolt pattern. depending on the backspacing required to clear the side of the trailer, you might be able to find very cheap 32"+ wheels and tires in your local classifieds.

If blocking the Torsion axles (easy and pretty cheap way to add 2"-4" lift) doesn't work, you could also consider a leaf spring/solid axle swap if your trailer frame is at the outside perimeter of the trailer. (I can't tell from your pic). Standard trailer leafs in a spring under setup would likely add several inches to your ground clearance, and setting them up spring over would add 4" to that. You could also use light duty vehicle leaf springs (i.e. Jeep CJ front springs) for a smoother ride and more lift options.

My car-hauler used to be a camper trailer - it has two torsion axles - and in stock configuration, they bolted a 2x4" C-channel to the regular frame, that dropped the torsion units 4" lower - it's "blocking", like Stormrider said - you could do the same. How much lift do you need?

Also - adding shocks will be my next mod - after Shadow Catcher proves it out for me, lol Cool
